Holy smokes, do we have a Casting Cage episode for you! This week, we review the 2009 Werner Herzog joint: Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.
Nic Cage plays — you guessed it — a shady cop. How shady, you ask? 
 
Let's see. He dates a prostitute. He breaks nearly every law. He does ALL the drugs. There's nothing that will get in his way and nothing he won't smoke (except cigarettes — go figure) to help close the case. So does that, technically, make him a good cop with some bad habits? We discuss.

This week on Casting Cage, we're diving headfirst into the neon-soaked streets of Thailand with Nicolas Cage's 2008 action thriller, 'Bangkok Dangerous'. A seasoned assassin. One last job. A city full of bad decisions. You know how this goes.
 
We do our best to find the silver lining in this remake of the Thai cult classic — brought back to life by the original directors, the Pang Brothers — and honestly? There's more to work with than you might expect. There's action. There's suspense. There are some deeply questionable choices and enough deadpan acting to make you wonder if the real danger was the emotional range we lost along the way.
 
So join us as we explore the seedy underbelly of Bangkok, hunt for the heart beneath the hitman, and ask the question nobody else is brave enough to ask: was this one last job worth it?

This week on Bucky’s Basement, Fast Pitch pulls the title Don’t Rico Asteroids from the Sack—and the Sack, as usual, shows no mercy.
Undeterred, the boys rise to the challenge with three wildly different interpretations: a futuristic sci-fi parable about classism and moral responsibility, an alien invasion orchestrated by a bottom-feeding film producer, and an unexpectedly earnest origin story for the classic arcade game Asteroids.

This week, Bucky’s Basement dusts off another Casting Cage episode with 2007’s National Treasure: Book of Secrets, a sequel that proves American history has even more secret compartments than previously disclosed.
Nic Cage returns as Benjamin Gates, this time chasing the mythical City of Gold, Cibola, while reuniting with his whiny daddy (Jon Voight), his ex (Diane Kruger), his trusty sidekick (Justin Bartha), and racing against a lazy treasure hunting Ed Harris. Add in Helen Mirren as Cage’s hot mom as a bonus.
 
We unpack granddaddy-vs-granddaddy dynamics, questionable treasure hunting ethics, and the glossy, carbon-copy soul of late-2000s Hollywood blockbusters. Is it absurd? Absolutely. Is it watchable? Check our ratings.
